It's a date!

We have our Log In Date (LID). This is a major milestone in our journey to our daughter. This is the official date that the China Center for Adoption Affairs uses to keep everything in queue. This will help us keep track of how soon we can hope to see our dossier travel the next milestones.

Next step is to clear the Review Room. According to the CCAA website, they have completed the review of dossiers registered before March 22, 2006. So, about an 11 month wait.

Then, comes the date we all are waiting for - when we get matched with our daughter. CCAA is showing that they have matched children to dossiers regsitered in their office before October 13, 2005. So, about a 16 month wait.

Now, those dates could move up, or get longer. There really is no way to know. We just have to be patient.

At least it gives us time to get the nursery ready!!! ;-)

I'm a Believer

Yes, I have joined the ranks of those who know there is NOTHING sexier than a man in a Kilt. And I have proof.

I know I'm lucky. And I thank every god available, every day!

Time for Second Filing - CELEBRATE

TIME TO DO A CELEBRATION DANCE! I know - unless you are in the throws of Adoption Paperchasing, this will have no meaning to you. But, our Home Study was delivered to CCAI, who is delivering it to Adoption Alliance today. We passed! WooHoo! And, that means it is time to send MORE paperwork to CCAI, so they can send MORE paperwork to Immigration. And, we can go get fingerprinted as soon as we get the invitation to go get fingerprinted. In a nutshell - we are through one major hoop on our trek to Alexa! I have to believe all this hurry up means she is being born soon, and we have to have everything in place so the universe can match us up!

2 more milestones

Our Home Study will be delivered to CCAI on Friday. That's a big hurdle down. And done in a month! This is a process that can take 3. We also applied for our passports today. Woohoo! I think I have all the documents, now I just have to start getting them Notorized, Certified, Sealed, and Copied.

Lexie, we are getting closer!

Gay Rights = Human Rights

To quote my friend Mike: Gakked from multiple people, though I'll disagree on the wording. It's not gay rights, it's just simple human rights.

"Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?" - Ernest Gaines

We would like to know who really believes in gay rights on livejournal. (See, I told you I stole it. I'm trying to start something similar on Blogspot.) There is no bribe of a miracle or anything like that. If you truly believe in gay rights, then repost this and title the post as "Gay Rights". If you don't believe in gay rights, then just ignore this. Thanks.

One Step Closer

We had our final Homestudy interview on Monday. The report should be done sometime this week. That's one more things done on the road to China. Also good news - our Social Worker got her match today. I'm so excited for her!!!

And thank you to Katherine for once again throwing a brilliant Quad party last Saturday! Much fun was had, and the sunrise was... okay, I didn't really see the sun come up. I just know it was bright as we were heading home. I had my eyes shut. ;-p And homework on Sunday was more difficult than usual. I thought it was becuase I was hung over. But I hear my sober friends had trouble as well. Whew.
