What I Learned Today
Today, I learned that anesthesia makes me very nauseous.
And I have a wonderful husband who takes good care of me. (But, I already knew that.)
Welcome to the Lots On Salon. Make yourself at home. Here, we shall discourse on a vast array of topics. Or, maybe we'll just shoot the breeze. Whimsy will win out! I hope your stay here is enjoyable. If the toiletpaper tube needs replacing, you'll find more in the closet at the end of the hall. No, the other hall. I've got quite eclectic tastes and a huge variety of interests. This site is definitely NOT dedicated to just one subject.

Doesn't Congress have more to do these days than poke their noses into stuff that doesn't really matter, or to pass laws that don't pertain to the country?
First, they spend our tax dollars to look into steroid Use by Major League Baseball players. Last time I looked, Baseball was a Game. It's entertainment. Do I think the players used steroids? Absolutely. Do I care? Nope, not a bit. It's their heart. It's their life. It's their sperm. It's their brain. If they think it's important enough to cheat in order to justify their over-the-top salaries, then that's an issue between them, their family, their conscience, and their employer.
And to the parents who say "But they are influencing my child to use steroids." I say, Yep, they sure are. Just like our kids get influenced every single day by a myriad of sources. It is your job as a parent to sift through the influences and teach your children right from wrong, harmful vs beneficial.
If Congress needs to regulate Baseball, then they need to get into every other form of entertainment: Music, Movies, other professional sports, Hiking in the mountains... I don't think Congress has that kind of time. Because......
Now, Congress is scrambling to pass a law that applies to ONE PERSON. One person who isn't even alive!!!
Schiavo has been in a persistent vegetative state for 15 years. Her feeding tubes were removed Friday afternoon at the request of her husband, who says that his wife expressed to him before she fell ill that she did not want to be kept alive under such circumstances.
I am not commenting on wether the juries were right or wrong...
Isn't it interesting that Robert Blake spent (from what I calculate) over a full year in jail for a crime he didn't commit? And Martha Stewart spent 5 months months behind bars for a crime she did?
Today, I got a great lesson on pivot tables. Erin showed me how to make my table do just what I wanted. I was so excited!
So, I went home.

What can you expect? Well, I may discourse on any of the following: Sci-Fi, technology, the internet, reality television, Highlander, West Wing, Nashville Star, Siberian Huskies, the Ididarod, reincarnation, Renaissance Festivals, history, the future, InVitro Fertilization, my handsome, darling, wonderful, loving (did I mention handsome) husband, work life, paganism, Focus on the Family, Halloween, birthdays, traveling, weather, dieting and exercise, food, romance, movies, Football, conventions... I'm sure I forgot a topic or ten...
Opinions are always welcome. An opinion can never be wrong - even if we agree, a great discussion is a wonderful way to stimulate the mind.
I hope to have some recurring themes. One of which will probably be: What I Learned Today! Because I am a firm believer that you really should learn something new every day. Then you get to go home.
So, what did you learn today?
